I fixed the tie rods on the passenger side so the car will track straight. It was interesting doing it in the garage with another car in there. She handles much better now.
I came back and garaged it again to check the timing, and I noticed that water was spewing out onto the power steering pulley and shooting out by the charcoal canister.
Its also puking coolant onto the ground right under the lower radiator hose.
It looks like the water pump is probably shot. I dont know if i can get it going by Saturday, but i will give it a try.

If Brian had made it out there he would have got me. Had no hook last night with the open rear end on street tires. Ended the night with a 15.9 2.3 60ft first pass had a 2.9 60 ft.

I finished installing the water pump and ALL the accessories back around 11pm. I worked on it for a good 8hours at least. The power steering was the hardest part to work around, since it has so many bolts and they are never marked correctly in the Chiltons book.
At least i dont have any bonus parts, and i put everything back like i removed it. The only thing is i ended up breaking a heater control valve and luckily advance had everything i needed in stock.
I was going to run down there and give her a shot down the track but everyone was saying it was too late.

Its still leaking, but only when it gets hot and everything was clean and dry looking. Corey broke an alternator belt and I drove him over to his car and we went down the way to Wal-mart to buy some anti-freeze.
It looks like it was the lower radiator hose the whole time, its spurting out up onto the pulleys. I bought it but I was trying to take short cuts putting it back together and left the old one on.
On our way back, i was sitting at this light down the street from the house behind Corey and this 4runner does a lane change behind me and gets on my ass. When the light turns green she decides to ram my car even though i'm still stopped. All i heard was the sound a Taco Bell taco makes when you bite into it.
To tell you the truth, the ugly third brake light everyone complains about has kept me from getting rear ended in the 86, at least thats a theory i have. Its right in your field of vision if you are behind someone (and most people are right up in your butt). I might swap hatches with an 86 model for just that reason.

I read the top of that "$700" and I was like BUY BUY BUY! But then it's $700 for the RS and $1700 for the IROC which still isn't bad. I'm already buying a car hopefully on friday, won't be able to afford buying another one.
