We just finished putting in a 9 bolt posi rearend in my camaro and bled it and drove it down the street. When we came back and stopped the rear calipers were smoking brake smoke.
I heard noise and rattling back there so I think the brakes are pooped. Anyone rebuild their own calipers? I was going to just buy a new set but the calipers by themselves are $50 each!
The kit to rebuild them is $16 for both sides and I always wanted to try doing it.
The rebuild kit should be here by Wednesday so I am looking to rebuild them on Thursday sometime.
Anyone have any insight on this?

See if you can find a complete write up for it.

We are definitely going to try to make the effort to head up there soon. Always interested in meeting new people and seeing the different rides.
If you have a particular weekend in mind, we can arrange a cruise or something up there soon.

Are you talking about a transmission crossmember? The plate is black and kind of triangular shaped? Thats the torque arm, and it bolts to the axle housing and then at the torque arm bracket at the transmission. This page has a really good picture of the mount at the tailshaft: (picture 11) www.freewebs.com/iroczman15/workdone2006.htm

I have the adapter bracket for a th350 swap you will have to get a drive shaft out of an 82-83 auto trans car because they ran the th200m or have a custon one made. depending when you need one I am looking into having a new one made for my 84 because it is now too long with my 9" in there. I may have a stock cross member around here somewhere. If there are any other parts you need post up I have parted one car and split another with brian.
