Whe i go for my exaust setup im gonna be looking at y pipes and a single pipe running to the back. The reason is cause i dont want to see pipes hanging out the bottom of my car. Before i set my mind to anything i wanted to ask ifd anybody out there running duals with a tucked-under fit

That actually looks a lot better than other examples ive see. Question though. What is the outside diameter of those mufflers/glasspacks? And if you wanted too, how much of a pain would it be to run that all the way back to the rear of the vehicle? I hadnt even gone no where near the rear underneath of mine so i honestly have no clue.. Hopefully in a couple of weeks i can climb up under and check it out for myself.. One more question.. Hows the heat transfer from the pipes to inside the vehicle? Is that a issue at all, or is it at least tolerable?.. I keep going back and looking at your pics...lol... thanks for the visual bro..

I wanted to add something to this thread. I have the beliefe that dual exaust setup with an "h" or "x" style crossover is gonna produce more power. This is based on, pretty much second hand knowledge and asumption. The more i think about it, the more i realize i dont have any any solid pro's and con's of dual vs single exaust. Any body care to enlighten me?

The outter dimater is 4 inches. The heat transfer isn't too bad in the front but the rear floor pan gets hot. I have thought about going over the rear end but to find a shop that can do it reasonable priced would be hard. The X-pipe setups increase the scavenging effect and will help pull the exaust out of the opposing bank. I am planning on switching to a 3 inch exaust with an x pipe.

as far as "x" pipes there are.. has anyone seen the aftermarket x pipe coming out the new 2010 camaro. that pipe is VERY narrow, it might be narrow enough to maybe fit into our 3rd gen tunnel. its something i maybe consider doing if its not tooo expensive. but then again, custom work is somehow expensive.. i know summit sells a dual exaust pipe for our cars. has anyone bought this kit?

as far as H and X... from what i heard X is the way to go. i've heard that it helps evenly distribute the pressure of both pipes once they meet in the X, and flow out more effectively than a H pipe. the H pipe doesnt move the gases more naturally because of the 90 degree angle connecting both pipes.. true duals somehow have their own pressure of gasses flowing in each pipe but you get better results with an X pipe. overall having an "H", "X" or true is way better than a cat-back, y system.. this everyone knows!

I wish I could run the Hedman long tubes but I' have to modify them to work with the T5. My Hooker LT's sit an inch lower than the Hedmans and I hate it. Anyways mine is a 3" and has an H pipe an works great for me.
