Gilbert gave me a call saying he bought an 85 TPI Camaro with a painless wiring setup.
The ECM gave him a code 21 and he replaced the TPS and the code went away.
He says that when he turns the key, the painless setup turns on the fuel pump at a constant voltage (instead of priming) and leaves it on.
The fuel pump was recently changed, but after the car is started the fuel pump gets very loud and the car will barely idle.
If he gives it any gas at all it will make it to about 1500-2500 RPM and the engine will just stall out.
He tested the fuel pressure and the pressure quickly climbs to about 70 PSI.
After he turns the car off, it will bleed off the fuel pressure within 5 minutes.
The car sat for about a year and the history of the car is basically unknown.
I was thinking that it might be clogged injectors or a problem with the fuel pressure regulator. I also told him to verify that the pump is the correct pump for a tuned port.
Any other points of view?

I asked him the same thing, its a different car that was converted over to painless wiring setup. I am thinking there is something wrong with the fuel system because of the excessive fuel pressure. There is some literature on thirdgen.org that states that anything over 55-60 psi will cause the injectors to go static and strain the fuel pump in a bad way.
