An interesting article about Optima and Odyssey batteries that wont take a charge: www.hotrod.com/techarticles/general/hrdp_1009_how_to_charge_a_agm_battery/index.htmlI have noticed this recently with the battery chargers that I own. If the actual battery voltage is too low, the charger cannot sense the battery voltage and will not trigger a charge. I usually attach the leads from the battery charger to the battery and then grab my portable jump starter, and attach the leads to the battery charger leads. I turn the switch on for battery power on the jump starter and the charger will now start its charging cycle. Turning the jump starter off and removing the leads have no effect on the charging after that. This will work with any battery, not just spiral cells. You can even use a another battery to supply the 12 volts.
