I have a 95 z28 rear in my 84 z28. It has a nasty hum when coasting, but not under acceleration or under about 25 mph. I know it's not the axle bearings (cause I just changed them out last week). I think it is a bearing on the pinion most likely. Hopefully just a u-joint or pre-load issue. I don't mind doing all of the work, but removing, repairing and re-installing a differential is a bit out of my league. Anyone have some experience with differential repair?

What about the wheel bearings on the brake rotor? Do you have rear discs or drum brakes? Have you checked your U-joints on the driveshaft too?
