I really liked the low budget boxed stock LCA's that I have on my yellow Z28 so I took a stock set to a welder to do another set. He didnt do them like I told him to do them, but I am going to try them anyway. Stock LCA's arc welded with round tubing: Primered: Painted with some high temp grill paint i had lying around: Complete and ready to install:

The control arms were off my 86 and I dropped them off at the welder, and he charged me $40 to weld them up. If I had known they were going to do what they did, I would have done it myself and bought an arc welder. Anyway, the paint was cheap because we just had it here at the house.
I have always noticed this gasoline smell with this car, I thought it was the fuel neck but the other day I noticed that there was fuel dripping on the ground. Last night I jacked the car up and removed the wheels and noticed that one of the rubber lines by the fuel tank had shrapnel damage and dumbass had used regular hose clamps on the line.
I had to run to the 24 hour autozone but I got the line fixed. While I had the car jacked up I decided to do the lower control arms as well. I would say it took me about an hour to do both sides because I didnt have an air compressor. The lower control arms had rusty bolts on them.
On the other hand, I took off at a stop light and it sat there and ripped the tires all the way to 6500RPM and then hooked. The second launch it the rear started to go sideways to the left but the car was still going forward as it was spinning them and then it evened out and took off.
Even part throttle launches are better, it just shoots off in the direction you point the car in. I think it would really benefit from a better panhard rod so the limited slip isnt as unpredictable as it is.

I ordered a set of the lakewood's lcas. Hard launches are much more controllable and my rear end doesn't hop anymore. The rear doesn't come out at all with me. Well worth the upgrade. When I get back to the track, I'll see if there is a difference on my 60' foot times.
